Revert "feat(games): custom games, game profile parity and custom game images" - #1244
Revert custom games, game profile parity, and custom game images
Rolls back the custom-games feature: no more creating, renaming, removing, or image-managing custom games in GamesPage.tsx, and the Bridge client methods for custom-game lists, images, and default profiles are removed from bridge.ts
Game profiles no longer cover per-connection polling rates, Host bunny-hop, Host button assignments, or analog button tuning; those fields are dropped from GAME_PROFILE_FIELDS in game-profile-snapshot.ts and no longer applied or restored by the controller in controller.ts
Removes the Apply Now action from GameProfilePanel.tsx; drafts auto-save through the standard pending-changes path, and drafts are not opened while any setting operation is in progress
Button mapping returns to the Logitech profile assignment model for all layers, dropping Bridge host-button editing while adding device, connection, and battery info to the heading in ButtonMap.tsx
The DPI editor drops generic Host Y-axis editing and Host slot persistence in DpiCard.tsx; polling and bunny-hop settings in PerformanceCards.tsx use only the standard Host/per-profile operations
Also removes the now-unused translation keys in all locales and the shared status overlay (setStatusOverlay) from pending-changes.ts
Risk: this is a feature revert — check for any persisted Host DPI slot, bunny-hop, or custom-game localStorage records and any external callers of the removed Bridge client methods and controller apply/restore APIs
Game-profile drafts now stage and restore pending changes without held-value overlays or separate connection polling rates. Host-level button and Bunny Hop controls, custom-game management, and related Bridge APIs are removed. The DPI editor uses a single-DPI path for generic devices.
Draft snapshots no longer include separate connection rates, analog tuning, or Host button and Bunny Hop fields. Draft writes stage snapshots, flash when changes are present, and restore pending changes. The Apply-now action and restoration flow are removed.
Button assignments and Bunny Hop use onboard profile data. Host-level button, Bunny Hop, and split polling-rate paths are removed. The button map displays connection and battery information.
Generic DPI rows use the current DPI and presets, and apply a single DPI value. Host DPI slots and persisted unlink selections are removed. Logitech profile-slot axis controls remain.

When editing a game profile with a stored profile selected on a Logitech mouse, this view exposes onboard polling-rate and DPI-slot controls that cannot save changes, while hiding the working live polling-rate editor. Macroscope's review found this PR requires human approval — This broad feature revert removes custom-game and game-profile capabilities while changing several live device-editing paths across the controller and UI. Unresolved findings also identify unusable draft controls, stale DPI state, and missed write-failure retries, so the runtime behavior needs human validation.

Restore the F25 rejection assertion in the F13–F24 test.
The PR removed the base assertion that usageForCode("F25") returns null. No remaining test checks this boundary, so a future change that extends function-key parsing to F25 would pass the suite. The current code still returns null for F25, so this is a test coverage gap, not a production defect.
The cited lines 9–11 contain an unrelated test. Add the assertion to F13-F24 map to the HID usages at the end of the keyboard table in src/features/buttons/logitech-commands.test.ts, at lines 29–39.

Hide or disable onboard-profile controls while a game profile draft is open.
The removed override in buildProfileView was the only place that hid onboard-profile controls during a game profile draft. Without it, the game workspace renders ButtonMap, the DPI slot editor, and the Bunny Hop control as interactive. Each of these controls then fails when the user changes it, because the setters call blockedByGameProfileDraft() first.
Trigger: a user opens a game profile while a writable Logitech onboard profile is selected, then edits a ButtonMap assignment, a DPI slot, or Bunny Hop. The Games page renders the Buttons and Performance tabs through Workspace with gameProfile. ButtonMap appears because buttonMapAvailable now sees a non-null profile.entry. DpiCard and PerformanceCards appear because profile.slotsAvailable and profile.bunnyHopSupported are no longer forced off. No card receives a disabled state from the game workspace.
Consequence: each edit shows the info toast "Can't be saved to a game profile" and changes nothing. The controls look editable, but they never save a game setting. The toast gives the user a way out, and no data is lost. Still, the UI and the draft guard now disagree.
Restore the draft hiding for these controls, or pass a read-only state to them in game-profile mode, so the rendered controls match the guard. The inspected code does not establish that restoring the override alone is safe. It also hid per-profile DPI and Bunny Hop state. Choose the fix after confirming which onboard settings should appear in the game editor.

Keep failed game-profile writes out of the "written" result.
flashGameProfileSnapshot returns "written" whenever the snapshot staged changes, even when the flash failed. flashPendingChanges catches setter errors and returns normally. The failed change is still pending when restorePendingChanges replaces the pending map with the stash. The Bridge applier then treats the result as a completed apply and does not retry. The game profile is not applied, and the failed change is dropped.
Possible direction
Have flashPendingChanges report whether every batch was written. Return a failure result from flashGameProfileSnapshot when a write failed. In useBridgeProfileApplier.ts, leave appliedSignature and priorSettings unchanged on failure, so the next run can retry. Keep the failed change pending, or restore it after the stash is restored. This changes the return type and the applier logic, so it needs its own change set. No localized diff is established.

Map legacy per-link polling rates to pollingRateHz before the profile loader drops them.
Removing pollingRateWirelessHz and pollingRateWiredHz from GAME_PROFILE_FIELDS makes sanitizeSnapshot discard them. Saved game profiles that store only a per-link polling rate then lose that choice.
At launch, profileTarget builds the target from sanitizeSnapshot and adds only the top-level settings.pollingRateHz. The applier applies that target, so the game does not select the saved rate. This happens without any save.
When the user edits such a profile, GameProfilePanel rewrites the Bridge record from the sanitized draft. The stored record then loses the per-link value as well.
Add a conversion that maps the legacy per-link value to pollingRateHz in profileTarget, or add a one-time migration. The mapping needs a decision: the per-link value that applies depends on the connected link. No existing migration was found, so this change needs that decision before a fix is written.

The same-X skip leaves a differing dpiY unchanged after the user commits the displayed DPI.
When the device status holds a dpiY that differs from dpi, selecting the already-current X value in the single-DPI view skips applyDpiValue. That call is the only generic path that sets status.dpiY to the selected value, so the local status keeps the differing Y value. Diagnostics shows both values ("X · Y"), so the mismatch remains visible there.

Persist the Logitech unlink choice when X and Y are equal.
toggleLink no longer calls control.setDpiSlotUnlinked. The unlink choice now exists only in the local rows state. On remount, initRows sets linked to true for any slot whose X and Y values match, because no previous row is passed. The user's unlink is lost, the Y input is disabled again (src/features/devices/cards/DpiCard.tsx:487), and the user must unlink the slot again.
Slots whose X and Y values differ are not affected. Their differing values keep linked false after remount.
Store the Logitech unlink state where initRows can read it after a remount. The inspected code does not establish a safe edit for this. setDpiAxisLock and dpiAxisLocks exist in src/device/controller.ts, but no UI code calls or reads them, so their wiring is unverified.

Clear the pending DPI edit when the target device changes.
Removing key={control.dpiUnlinkKey() ?? "dpi"} keeps the DpiStageEditor instance, its rows state, and its 450 ms commit timer across a device switch. Before this change, the key changed with the active device, so the next render remounted the editor. The effect cleanup then cleared the timer.
For a switch to a target with status, the stale write can occur through this path:
activateClientNow sets latestDeviceStatus = null, then active = client, then awaits client.readStatus() and client.getDpiOptions(). The synchronous steps before applyStatus do not call emit(). The snapshot is cached, so the card still shows the old device's status during this window.
applyStatus(status) runs inside batch, which emits the new status. The editor is not keyed, so the same instance and timer survive.
If the 450 ms timer fires after applyStatus, commit(rowsRef.current) writes through control.applyDpiStageValue. That function reads stages from latestDeviceStatus and does not compare device identity. The old edit is written to the newly selected mouse.
This requires an edit followed by a switch that completes before the timer fires. The source-signature effect can also keep old device rows on screen. It skips the rebuild when the signature changes within 1500 ms of the last edit.
Fix direction: when the active device changes, clear timerRef and rebuild rows from the new snapshot without calling commit. Do not flush the pending edit from an effect after the switch, because the write targets the newly active device. The inspected part of buildSnapshot exposes no device identity, so the controller would need to provide one. Do not key the editor on the unlink state alone.

HITS edits during a game-profile draft change only in-memory state.
With instant flash on and a game-profile draft active, the HITS value and rapid-trigger controls call setAnalogTuningValue (src/features/superstrike/Superstrike.tsx:289, :312). That function updates analogTuning. It then calls applyLogitechAnalogButton(...) or applyLogitechAnalogButtons(). Both return at blockedByGameProfileDraft() before stageAnalogButton(...) (src/device/controller.ts:4245-4257, :4325-4329, :4453-4458). The helper shows an info toast (ctl.notInGameProfile) that explains the change cannot be saved to a game profile. The control keeps the new value, but the draft does not record it. gameProfileDraftSnapshot() builds from withPendingChanges and gameProfileDraft.touched (src/device/controller.ts:1503-1506). No analogTuning field reaches the saved profile. The Apply buttons at src/features/superstrike/Superstrike.tsx:336 also return through this blocked path and show the same toast.
The comment at src/features/superstrike/Superstrike.tsx:334-335 says a game-profile draft "stages instead of flashing." That statement does not hold for HITS edits.
Pick one fix:
Disable or hide the HITS value, mode, rapid-trigger, and preset controls while a draft is active. Also remove the Apply buttons in that state. The canAdjust prop does not gate the value or rapid-trigger controls in the inspected lines, so those controls need their own change.
Or route analogTuning into the draft and its field list. This needs a schema change.
Reverting showApply alone is not enough. The value controls still change state that is never staged.

Review comment at @src/features/superstrike/Superstrike.tsx around lines 334 -
336:
Update the HITS controls in the Superstrike component to disable or hide value,
mode, rapid-trigger, and preset edits while snapshot.gameProfileDraft is active,
and ensure showApply does not expose Apply buttons in that state. Do not rely on
canAdjust alone; preserve the existing controls when no draft is active.

Closing in favour of #1245, which includes this revert (with your authorship) and then restores everything from #1177 except custom game pictures and renaming, on top of the local-app design from #1237.
