Part of #1689.

The README's Try button built AngouriMathLab's try branch. That branch is archived, and it installs the .NET 6 SDK together with Ubuntu 20.04 packages its base image no longer has. binder/Dockerfile here uses:

  • Jupyter's maintained quay.io/jupyter/base-notebook, pinned to 2026-10-05;
  • the .NET 10 SDK, which dotnet-interactive 1.0.712001 targets;
  • the two samples from Sources/Samples.

The button now opens the F# sample. mybinder builds binder/Dockerfile with the repository root as context. I checked that in repo2docker's source and built the image the same way with docker build -f binder/Dockerfile ..

Neither sample ran in it. I executed each with jupyter nbconvert --execute inside the image:

was now
first cell, both the kernel hung: a comment after a #r directive does the directive alone
F# Interactive.magic() is gone, because the package registers itself on load; open Functions, parse, differentiate and solve did not compile AngouriMath.FSharp.Functions's parsed, derivative and solutions: runs to the end in 14 s, solutions giving {3}
C# referenced AngouriMath.Interactive, which the C# kernel hangs loading; MathS.Matrices.Matrix takes no Entity[,] references AngouriMath, whose LaTeX extension it needs, and uses MathS.Matrix: runs to the end in 5 s

Two things are not fixed here:

Left on #1689: deleting LAB_ACCESS_TOKEN.

The README's Try button built AngouriMathLab's try branch, which is archived
and installs the .NET 6 SDK with Ubuntu 20.04 packages that its base image no
longer has. binder/Dockerfile here is Jupyter's maintained base-notebook, the
.NET 10 SDK the dotnet-interactive tool targets, and the two samples from
Sources/Samples, and the button opens the F# one.

Neither sample ran in it. Both first cells hung the kernel: a comment after a
#r directive does, and there was one on each. The F# one then called
Interactive.magic(), which is gone since the package registers itself on load,
and opened Functions and called parse, differentiate and solve, which are
AngouriMath.FSharp.Functions and parsed, derivative and solutions now. The C#
one referenced AngouriMath.Interactive, which the C# kernel hangs loading;
AngouriMath, with its LaTeX extension, is what it needs. And
MathS.Matrices.Matrix took an Entity[,] once; MathS.Matrix does. Executed with
nbconvert in the image, both now run to the end, in 14 and 5 seconds.

Part of #1689.
