Welcome to the Microglossum Wiki!
Microglossum is a custom 16-bit CPU architecture inspired by Andrew Tanenbaum's Mic-1. It features nine 16-bit registers, a 32 KB ROM with 32-bit instruction cells, and 128 KB of RAM with 16-bit cells.
Project Content
This project contains:
The CPU circuit implemented in Logisim Evolution.
Two simple example programs.
The main software (Microglossum), which acts as both a micro-assembler and an emulator.
Compiling
To compile you simply have to run the make command then an executable called microglossum will appear. To learn how to use the program simply run it without any argument.
Documentation
Architecture Details: Contains all the details about how the CPU works, its bus structure, registers, ALU, and its implementation inside Logisim Evolution.
Writing micro-programs: Shows how the micro-assembler works and how to write micro programs.
Emulation: Explains how to use the emulator and how to run the programs.
