Fixes #2738

rebuild_container never loaded /var/local/emhttp/var.ini, so xmlToCommand() built TZ and HOST_HOSTNAME from an empty $var, and rebuilt containers came up without a time zone or host name. rc.docker runs this script when it restores networks, so those containers fell back to UTC without any warning. The script now loads var.ini the same way update_container does, before the first xmlToCommand() call.

Thanks Vituhlos for the detailed report and the fix.

The exit status problem at the end of the issue is left for a separate change.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes
    • Improved container rebuild handling by loading system configuration before the rebuild begins.
    • Existing container rebuild, autostart, cache, and image cleanup behavior remains unchanged.

xmlToCommand() reads the time zone and server name from $var, which rebuild_container never set, so rebuilt containers got an empty TZ and HOST_HOSTNAME.

Walkthrough

rebuild_container now loads /var/local/emhttp/var.ini into $var before rebuilding a container. The rebuild can use the host timezone and hostname values when it generates container environment variables.

Explanation

Issue #2738 requires scripts/rebuild_container to load /var/local/emhttp/var.ini before its first xmlToCommand() call. The supplied PR evidence reports that the script now parses this file into $var before rebuilding. This supports the required TZ and HOST_HOSTNAME values for manual and network-restore rebuilds. Issue #2738 does not require the separate exit-status change in this PR.

Full details: Out of Scope Changes check

Explanation

The reported change adds only the var.ini load in emhttp/plugins/dynamix.docker.manager/scripts/rebuild_container. This change directly supports issue #2738. No unrelated change is reported. The exit-status behavior is explicitly excluded as a separate change and is not an out-of-scope defect.

Validate var.ini before xmlToCommand().

xmlToCommand() reads $var['timeZone'] and $var['NAME'] without guards. If parse_ini_file() fails or either key is missing, the generated TZ or HOST_HOSTNAME value can be empty. Require a valid array with both keys before the first xmlToCommand() call and reject the rebuild otherwise.
