Ember

A dark, glassy blur Firefox theme with an ember accent, one line toolbar, and "zen" that hides the entire UI until you need it. Requires dark mode turned on.

UI fully hidden Zen mode: everything collapses to a 3px peek strip. The colored lines is the active tab. Non active tabs are silver

Toolbar Hover the top edge (or hit Ctrl+L) and the full toolbar appears.

Layout

  • One line UI: urlbar and tabs share a single row; the urlbar expands smoothly on focus
  • Zen (--uc-zen: 1): the whole toolbar collapses to a thin strip; reveals on hover, focus, or urlbar activation. Tab positions stay visible as a thin line, with the active tab being orange and the inactive is a dark silver/grey.
  • Bookmarks toolbar moved below the tab/nav row
  • Sidebar headers and splitter chrome stripped; supports both horizontal and vertical tabs
  • Floating findbar pinned top-right, with configurable button order/visibility
  • macOS traffic-light handling included

Styling

  • Frosted-glass panels, menus, and findbar (backdrop-filter blur + saturation, tunable alpha/blur)
  • Warm dark palette: near-black base #0b0908, rust accent #a63a2e, parchment text #d8cfc0
  • Hover/active states use color shifts instead of background pills — no boxy hover squares
  • Animated per-tab loading progress bar (toggleable)
  • Square corners by default; radius is variable-driven if you want rounding back
  • Respects prefers-reduced-motion

Content
(userContent.css)

  • Themed about:home / about:newtab replaces the firefox logo and text with just a image of rick and morty, minimal search field, monospace labels, transparent tiles
  • Glass treatment across about:preferences, about:addons, about:downloads, about:debugging, and other about: pages
  • Global thin/hidden scrollbar toggle
  • Ambient accent gradients

Install

  1. about:config → set toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets = true
  2. Find your profile folder: about:support → Profile Folder → Open Folder
  3. Drop the files into a chrome folder inside it:
<profile>/
└── chrome/
    ├── userChrome.css
    ├── userContent.css
└── logo.ico # newtab logo (any image works as long as it's a named logo.ico)
  1. Restart Firefox.

Feel free to customize, change colors, or whatever.
