Remove the broken Carthage integration and its active references, leaving Swift Package Manager as the supported dependency manager. Retire the example app, wrapper script, installation instructions, badge, and obsolete tooling rules. Preserve historical changelog entries and the existing XCFramework release generation.

Scope
Branched independently from freshly fetched origin/main, which already includes the CocoaPods removal. This PR does not depend on or include the SwiftPM example consolidation in #466.

Preserve the shared UIKit files because the existing SwiftPM example on main still uses them. Update their storyboard module references to that remaining example rather than the removed app.

Verification
The Carthage investigation reproduced the missing shared framework scheme on current main. After cleanup, no Carthage or Cartfile references remain outside CHANGELOG.md.

Focused macOS generation tests and make test-macos passed with 243 unit tests and 21 integration tests. make lint, git diff --check, commit hooks, and storyboard compilation with ibtool passed. Only macOS tests were run for this cleanup. Existing Xcode launch diagnostics and the invalid-PDF CoreGraphics diagnostic remain.
