Dependency Bump Evaluation
Version change: follow-redirects 1.16.0 → 1.16.1 (patch)
Semver bump type: patch
Changes:
- Escape all RegExp modifiers — fixes potential regex injection / ReDoS vulnerability when user-controlled input is interpolated into RegExp patterns used for header stripping during cross-origin redirects
- Support key/value header arrays — ensures header sanitization (e.g. stripping
Authorizationon cross-origin redirects) works correctly when headers are provided as flat[key, value, ...]arrays, closing a potential header-leak path
Breaking changes: None
Security concerns: This bump fixes security issues (regex injection and header sanitization bypass). No new security concerns introduced.
Impact on codebase: follow-redirects is a transitive dependency (via axios) locked in tests/workflows/yarn.lock. It is used only in CI/test tooling, not in production code. The change is lockfile-only (3 lines changed). tests/functional/yarn.lock still pins 1.16.0 and is unaffected by this PR.
Recommendation: SAFE TO MERGE
Notes: Patch-level security fix with no behavioral breaking changes. Scoped entirely to test infrastructure. CI checks that have completed are all passing (some still in progress at time of review, none failing).
