The /help list set its words in a column seven characters wide, so /logout and /effort, seven characters each, ran straight into their descriptions once the sign-in added them. The list is now one grid whose first column is as wide as its longest word, with a character's gap before the descriptions, so every description starts in one column whatever words a release adds.

Verified: npm test (1113 pass, the new layout test failing first on /logout), conventions-check, conventions-format; a screenshot of /help in Chromium shows the column.
