Summary

  • Migrate existing plaintext SQLite databases with SQLCipher's sqlcipher_export() using the stored binary passphrase.
  • Preserve the Room schema version in the encrypted output and verify it opens before atomically replacing the original database.
  • Keep the original database intact when conversion fails.

Validation

  • :app:testDebugUnitTest
  • :app:assembleDebug
  • :app:assembleRelease
  • Installed over existing app data on an Android emulator; app started successfully and the database header is encrypted.

Use sqlcipher_export with the stored binary key to migrate legacy SQLite data, preserve the Room schema version, and validate the encrypted result before replacing the original file.
