Summary

  • Update StyleCop.Analyzers from 1.2.0-beta.556 to 1.3.149-beta. C# 14 extension blocks, records, primary constructors, collection expressions and other newer syntax are now analyzed instead of skipped.
  • Enable the new rules SA1143 (conditional expression layout), SA1315 (inherited parameter names), SA1317 (Latin-only identifiers), SA1653 (one summary per partial type) and SA1654 ({T} instead of <T> in cref) as errors. SX1412 (UTF-8 without BOM) is listed but disabled, like SA1412.
  • Update the Microsoft.Build.NoTargets SDK from 3.7.56 to 3.7.134.
  • Add a publish-release.yml workflow that packs and pushes to nuget.org via trusted publishing when a version tag is pushed, mirroring Funcky. It verifies that the tag matches <Version> in the csproj first.
  • Document the release process in the README.

Behavior changes for consumers

See the 1.3.x release notes. Notably SA1600 now requires documentation on public extension members, SA1407 covers bitwise operators, SA1408 covers ?? mixed with &&/||, and SA1017 requires a space after parameter attribute lists.

Verification

  • dotnet pack with TreatWarningsAsErrors succeeds.
  • A scratch project using an extension<T>(...) block builds clean against the packed package; deliberately violating code triggers SA1143, SA1317 and SA1654 as errors.

Before tagging 1.2.0

  • Add a nuget.org trusted publishing policy for polyadic/code-style, workflow publish-release.yml.
  • Set the NUGET_USER repository variable.
