Summary

Port of upstream steipete#4452 / steipete#4453 (v0.75.0). ChatGPT-plan codex-auto-review requests at or after 2026-10-06T07:00Z are included in the plan and priced at $0; tokens stay in totals.

  • Rule: request on/after the cutoff, in a rollout whose session_meta has a non-blank payload.creator_account_id → $0. Pre-cutoff and API-key rollouts stay unpriced (Partial). An explicit custom price for codex-auto-review wins; models.dev/bundled prices never apply.
  • core/codex_included_pricing.rs (new): cutoff, eligibility, mark_included_records (re-keys to codex-auto-review-included at parse time, since Windows aggregates per day/model).
  • Applied on resumed-append, full-parse, and source-row paths; priced at Some(0.0) in the Codex pricing core; summary shows it as codex-auto-review at $0 without Partial.
  • CODEX_CACHE_SCHEMA_VERSION 6 → 7 so caches rebuild.
  • CHANGELOG line.

Known gap: codex_workspaces/indexer.rs sidecar has no creator info, so included requests there remain unpriced.

Commands

  • cargo test --manifest-path rust/Cargo.toml (4499 lib pass after merging main)
  • cargo test --manifest-path apps/desktop-tauri/src-tauri/Cargo.toml (721 pass)
  • cargo clippy both manifests --all-targets -- -D warnings, cargo fmt --all -- --check

UI proof

Backend pricing only; no frontend change. Covered by scanner/pricing tests; no CUA run.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Eligible Codex Auto-review requests made from a ChatGPT account on or after October 6, 2026, are priced at $0. Their token usage remains included in totals.
    • Explicit custom pricing for Codex Auto-review continues to apply.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Earlier requests and requests without a ChatGPT account retain their existing unpriced status.

Requests for codex-auto-review in a rollout whose session_meta names a ChatGPT creator_account_id, at or after 2026-10-06T07:00Z, are keyed apart as included usage. They keep their tokens in totals, price at exactly zero, and are not listed as unpriced. Explicit custom prices still apply. Other requests are unchanged. Bump the Codex cache schema to 7 so cached aggregates are rebuilt. Upstream steipete#4452, steipete#4453.

📝 Walkthrough

Codex Auto-review requests from eligible ChatGPT-created sessions are classified as included from the 2026-10-06 cutoff. Their tokens remain in totals, and their cost is zero unless explicit custom pricing applies.

Codex Auto-review requests from ChatGPT-created sessions are now priced at zero from the cutoff. The changelog does not state the 07:00 UTC boundary. No functional risk remains, so this is safe to merge after a small wording fix.

Explanation

The PR changes user-visible spend output. The diff makes eligible Auto-review usage appear as $0, retains its tokens, and removes the Partial/unpriced state in rust/src/codex_costs.rs; the spend contract exposes these values to the desktop Usage & Spend views. The description reports backend tests and explicitly says “no CUA run,” but it includes no screenshot or proof note from a fresh Windows build.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

State the exact eligibility cutoff.

This entry says “from 2026-10-06 onward.” Requests from 00:00 through 06:59 UTC on October 6 remain unpriced. State “at or after 2026-10-06 07:00 UTC” so the changelog matches the implemented rule.
