Raid and party frames for World of Warcraft Classic, built for healing by clicking the grid.
Hive draws one button per group member, puts the information you need on it, and casts the spell you bound to the mouse button you pressed. Nothing else to install: no library pack, no companion addon.

- Close the game.
- Copy the
Hivefolder intoWorld of Warcraft/<version>/Interface/AddOns. - Start the game and make sure Hive is ticked on the character select screen.
Out of the box Hive shows party and raid frames and nothing else. Everything beyond that is off until you switch it on.
- Type
/hive. The settings window opens, and a preview grid appears beside it so you can see what you are changing without being in a raid. - Drag the grid where you want it. While the settings window is open the grid is loose; when you close it, it locks itself again.
- Go to Clicks and set your spells. Until you do, the left button targets and the right button opens the unit menu.
- Go to Indicators and switch on what you want to see on the buttons.
- Close the window. Everything is saved as you make it.
To see the preview grid again later without opening the settings, type
/hive preview.
Party and raid frames that stay where you put them: the buttons do not move in combat and do not swap the person under your cursor.
Subgroups together or split apart, six sort orders, four growth directions, your own button size and spacing. Pets get a row of their own, and the subgroups you do not heal can be switched off.
Every click on a button can cast. Five mouse buttons and the mouse wheel, each with any combination of Alt, Ctrl and Shift - 56 combinations in all. Keyboard keys work too while the cursor is on a button.
Spells are picked from your own spellbook, with their icons, in a list that narrows as you type. Macros and the plain actions - target, focus, assist, open the menu - go in the same slots.
Your bindings keep working if you move to a client in another language. On Classic and TBC there is an exact-rank switch for healers who cast a cheap rank on purpose.
Bindings live in named sets. The sets are shared by your whole account; which set a character uses is that character's own choice.
Health as a bar and as a number, class colour, missing health, power, the name, dimming when somebody is out of range, a highlight under the cursor. The bar texture, the font, the colours and the position of every piece are yours to set.
On top of that there are 31 indicators you can switch on: debuffs, what your class can dispel, your own HoTs, defensive cooldowns used by the target or cast on them, missing raid buffs, incoming heals, shields, aggro, raid markers, ready check, role, leader, raid assignments, how many enemies are targeting somebody, incoming casts, death and offline.
Each one has its own place among 9 positions, its own size, its own glow out of 8 styles, and you choose which sits on top when two share a corner.
If the built-in list does not cover what you watch, make your own: any of 13 shapes, driven by a list of spells, filtered by who cast it, with a "show when it is missing" mode. That last one is how you find the people without your buff.
A list of rules, each with its own trigger, colour and style - one for a lethal debuff, another for a missing shield, a third for your current target. The first matching rule wins, so the order of the list is its priority.
A database of what matters on each boss, organised by instance and boss, with a switch per boss and an importance level per spell. The worst debuff on somebody shows as a large icon in the middle of their button; a border round the cell says who has it.
It covers Classic, TBC and Mists: 22 instances, 137 encounters and 277 spells. You can add your own by spell ID or by name, and what you add outranks the database.
For whoever leads: a ready check with a line of who has not answered, a pull countdown into raid chat, a raid marker row, a death report naming who died and to what, a counter of missing raid buffs and a battle-res counter. All of it is off by default.
The whole look of your frames saved under a name, and switched automatically by where you are - alone, in a party, in a raid of 10 through 40, in a battleground, in an arena - and by what you are doing there: your role or your specialization. The rules are kept per character, so your healer and your tank can want different things.
Profiles and sets of custom indicators travel as a share string you can paste to somebody else.
Thirteen pages, live previews beside the ones that need them, 28 colours you can change, and a per-section reset that asks before it fires. English, Russian and Ukrainian.
| Line | Interface | Raid debuff and cooldown data |
|---|---|---|
| Classic Era | 11507, 11509 | full |
| Classic 1.60 | 16001 | full |
| TBC Classic | 20504, 20506 | full |
| Wrath Classic | 30403, 30405, 38000-38002 | click defaults only |
| Cata Classic | 40400-40402 | click defaults only |
| Mists Classic | 50500, 50504 | full |
The addon itself is the same on every line - the grid, the buttons,
the indicators, click-casting, profiles. What differs is the data:
Wrath and Cata have click defaults but no raid debuff or cooldown
tables yet, so those indicators stay silent there until the tables are
filled. /hive debuffs and /hive spells tell you exactly what your
client knows.
Retail is not supported. Its raid frames and its auras work differently enough that serving both well from one addon is not possible; on Retail Hive refuses to load rather than half-work.
Version 1.0.0.
/hive open the settings window
/hive config the same thing
/hive preview show a preview grid outside a group
/hive lock lock or release the grid
/hive center put the grid back in the middle of the screen
/hive profile show which profile is active
/hive dispel ask the group to dispel you
/hive need ... ask the group for a spell by name
Type /hive report in game. It builds the report for you and selects
it: press Ctrl+C and paste it into an
issue. The report contains no character
name, no realm name and no names of anybody in your group.
If the issue asks for more, these say what Hive sees right now:
/hive check a self-check, line by line
/hive visible what Hive is drawing at this moment
/hive debuffs which raid debuff IDs your client knows
/hive spells which class spells your client knows
/hive probe which of the game's health functions still answer
/hive watch N record a button's colours for N seconds
/hive bare strip a unit button down: off | now | parts | all
/hive combatlog forget that the client refused the combat log
