"lifeobs" stands for Life observatories.
We are a research team working on the ecology of polar and migratory species of birds, with particular emphasis on behavioural ecology and population dynamics.
We currently work on:
- Emperor Penguins and Adélie Penguins in Antarctica
- King Penguins in Sub-Antarctica.
We are mainly based at:
- Centre d'Écologie Fonctionnelle et Évolutive (UMR5175), Montpellier, France
- Centre Scientifique de Monaco (CSM), Monaco
- Article scripts: the code needed to reproduce the analyses of our publications. Browse them.
- Software: tools developed and used by the team. Some repositories are currently private.
- Wiki and website: under construction.
Our code (and, when relevant, our data) is archived with DOIs in the lifeobs community on Zenodo. Datasets may also be deposited in domain repositories such as the Movebank Data Repository. New article repositories follow a common structure, based on our template: template-article-scripts.
Our code is released under open licenses (usually GPL-3.0-or-later): check the LICENSE file of each repository.
Please cite the article associated with a repository, and the Zenodo archive of the code
when you reuse it. Each repository has a CITATION.cff file and a "Cite this repository"
button on GitHub once it is published.
The admin guide describes how repositories are named, organized and archived. To start a new article repository, contact an owner of the organization.
