I build accessible, well-made websites, tools, and the data pipelines behind them.
By day I'm a mixed-methods research associate at UCLA Integrated Substance Use and Addiction Programs (ISAP), where I turn messy human data into public tools people actually use. Additionally, I run Plant Powered Pixels with my Husband, a small development studio in Los Angeles. The focus is accessibility done honestly: fixing problems at the source in real code, not bolting on an overlay "compliance" widget.
- Web that works for everyone. Accessible front-ends in React, TypeScript, Vite, and Tailwind. Fixed at the source, plain-language and cognitive accessibility first. No overlays.
- Full-stack apps. React and FastAPI, SQL (Postgres and SQLite), Firebase, have been my go-tos. Server or Serverless, doesn't matter to me.
- Data and research engineering. Python (pandas, scikit-learn) pipelines for survey and interview data, Qualtrics API, RAG databases, VLM pipelines, local models and VLMs, etc..
- Infrastructure. A self-hosted homelab running CI/CD, monitoring, testing, and evaluation for various projects, a few cloud servers as well.
- super.ucla.edu is the public site for a statewide substance-use prevention resource used by providers across California. I'm a web developer and researcher on the project: I build and maintain the site and the tools behind it, including the WordPress/JetEngine CMS, search, hosting, and analytics. I also built its grant-application portal for the California Services to Science Academy Cohort 2, including the data pipeline and the reviewer portal.
- Plant Powered Pixels builds accessibility-first sites and does source-level remediation for small businesses.
- Recent work: Accessibility Sandbox is a hands-on teaching site for accessibility remediation: a WCAG contrast checker and a broken-then-fixed grant portal to repair.
- workshop-lms-starter is an open-source, self-hostable LMS starter (React 19 + Firebase) with a zero-config demo mode.
