fix(deps): astro 7.4.4 and sharp 0.35.5 in the website - #1038
Aikido's scan of #1035 reports one new CRITICAL in this repository, and it is a real advisory: astro before 7.2.8 runs code from an optimized AVIF image. website/site pinned ^5.14.0, which resolves to 5.18.2 today. This lands the fix on main first, per Cameri, so the branch sync inherits it rather than carrying a dependency bump of its own.

What changed
astro 5.14 → 7.4.4, sharp 0.34 → 0.35.5, and @astrojs/markdown-remark added: astro 7 swaps the default Markdown processor, so the markdown.rehypePlugins entry in astro.config.mjs needs that package installed explicitly. Nothing in the config or in src/ needed to change for the major.
Lockfile regenerated.
Verification
pnpm run build — completes, 15 pages, the brand and NIP prebuild checks pass.
pnpm audit — no critical, no astro advisory. The remaining highs are transitive under wrangler and the astro toolchain (tmp, browserslist, follow-redirects, undici, zod, body-parser); changing those means a toolchain major, not this bump.
pnpm run check reports 3 errors, and they are pre-existing: worker/router.ts uses the ambient Fetcher type without @cloudflare/workers-types. CI runs build, not check, so this PR neither causes nor hides them — worth its own issue if you want it gated.

Walkthrough
The website package adds @astrojs/markdown-remark and updates Astro and Sharp. Knip configuration ignores the added dependency. A changeset records the Astro and Sharp versions and describes related advisories.
Adds @astrojs/markdown-remark at ^7.3.5, upgrades Astro to ^7.4.4 and Sharp to ^0.35.5, and adds the dependency to Knip's ignoreDependencies. The changeset names the Astro and Sharp versions and states that the private workspace package is outside the release set.
Issue 1037 requests an Astro upgrade in website/site. This pull request upgrades Astro to 7.4.4.

Before / after behavior
observed — Modified behavior in website/site/package.json: Adds @astrojs/markdown-remark at ^7.3.5, upgrades Astro from ^5.14.0 to ^7.4.4, and upgrades Sharp from ^0.34.5 to ^0.35.5; the two font dependencies are unchanged.
observed — Modified behavior in .changeset/astro-7-website.md: Adds an empty changeset naming Astro 7.4.4 and Sharp 0.35.5 for website/site, and states that the private workspace package is outside the release set. The changeset text also describes the dependency updates as addressing one critical Astro advisory and three high-severity advisories in Astro and Sharp.
observed — Modified behavior in .knip.json: The website/site workspace adds @astrojs/markdown-remark to ignoreDependencies; the other configuration values are unchanged.

Node minimum is outdated
Astro 7.4.4 requires Node >=22.23.4, but this package still advertises >=20.3. Contributors choosing Node from that range can pick an unsupported version and hit avoidable setup failures. Update engines.node to match Astro’s minimum or the repository’s higher minimum. The pinned CI version already meets the requirement.

Resolve the Knip failure for this dependency.
pnpm run check:deps fails because Knip reports @astrojs/markdown-remark as unused. Do not remove the dependency: Astro 7 requires it for the existing markdown.rehypePlugins configuration. Configure Knip to ignore this framework-required dependency, or migrate astro.config.mjs to the markdown.processor API and import the package there. (docs.astro.build)

Resolve the Knip unused-dependency report for @astrojs/markdown-remark without
removing the dependency required by Astro’s markdown.rehypePlugins
configuration. Configure Knip to ignore this dependency, or migrate the relevant
astro.config.mjs configuration to the markdown.processor API and import the
package there.

Aikido's scan of the branch-sync PR reports one new CRITICAL here, and it is a
real advisory rather than a scan artefact: astro before 7.2.8 runs code from an
optimized AVIF image (GHSA for the AVIF optimization path), and the site pinned
^5.14.0, which resolves to 5.18.2 today.
Three advisories close with this bump:
astro remote code execution via AVIF image optimization fixed in >= 7.2.8
astro reflected XSS via an unescaped slot name fixed in >= 6.3.3
astro host-header SSRF in the prerendered error fetch fixed in >= 6.4.6
sharp goes to ^0.35.5 for the libvips, libheif and librsvg advisories reachable
from the same tree.
Astro 7 changes the default Markdown processor, so `markdown.rehypePlugins` in
astro.config.mjs needs @astrojs/markdown-remark installed explicitly; without it
the build refuses with a message naming the package. Nothing else in the config
or in src/ needed to change.
Verified: `pnpm run build` completes (15 pages, the brand and NIP prebuild checks
pass), and `pnpm audit` no longer reports a critical or an astro advisory. The
remaining highs are transitive under wrangler and the astro toolchain (tmp,
browserslist, follow-redirects, undici, zod, body-parser), which a major bump of
the toolchain would change, not this one.
knip reads static imports, and @astrojs/markdown-remark is loaded by astro itself
for the rehype plugin in astro.config.mjs, so the dependency check called a
needed package unused. The changeset is empty on purpose: website/site is private
and is not in the release set.
Rebased onto main (f154598, the 3.11.0 release) so the branch is not BEHIND; force-push was the rebase, and the only commits are the two above it. Site build and layout checks re-run after the rebase: 15 pages, brand and NIP prebuild pass. pnpm run check:deps and changeset status --since origin/main both clean — knip needed @astrojs/markdown-remark declared, since astro loads it for the rehype plugin rather than by an import knip can see.
Brings #1038 and the release commit that followed it onto the sync branch, so
the guard the site change closes is closed here too rather than carried as a
branch difference. No conflicts.
