B1ack is an independent, decentralized collective of volunteer developers building and maintaining privacy-focused, modular open-source software. We integrate standalone utilities into a cohesive ecosystem designed for self-sovereignty and minimal attack surface.
- Default Privacy: Zero telemetry, zero metadata harvesting, and no artificial functional throttling.
- Full-Featured Simplicity: We streamline deployment and maintenance without stripping out advanced capabilities.
- Radical Transparency: 100% of our code is open for independent audits and build verification.
The collective operates on autonomous contribution and personal accountability:
- Scope of Work: Contributors choose what to build, maintain, and ship, provided changes strictly adhere to our privacy standards.
- Priority Coordination: Core maintainers may request temporary reallocation of efforts to patch critical infrastructure or address ecosystem-wide security issues.
- AI Tooling Policy: Machine-generated code is permitted, but the author assumes full liability. You are strictly responsible for architecture, auditability, licensing compliance, and security regression testing.
- Attribution: Commit histories and author credits are immutable and will not be rewritten.
- Project Archival: Repositories without an active maintainer will be archived and removed from default release pipelines until claimed by an active contributor.
- Zero Tolerance for Sabotage: Malicious code injection, deliberate infrastructural sabotage, and targeted harassment of members result in immediate revocation of access and account termination.
- Revocation of Partnership: Maintainers reserve the right to remove non-cooperative or disruptive contributors to safeguard project stability.
- The 7-Member Appeal Threshold: If an excluded contributor receives formal, public backing from at least 7 active project members, the removal is not final. The case is escalated to an independent core owner for secondary review and final arbitration.
- Scope of Interaction:
b1ack.netstrictly evaluates code, technical contributions, and project conduct. We do not monitor, moderate, or take positions on members' personal lives, political affiliations, or external activities. - Internal Operations: The community is strictly technical, apolitical, and neutral. Standing within the project depends solely on technical merit and reliability.
- Source Code: Repositories default to GNU General Public License v3 (GPLv3) unless explicitly marked under another OSI-compliant license.
- Forking & Branding: You are free to fork and modify the code under the terms of the GPLv3. However, all official
b1ack.netbranding, names, and visual assets must be stripped from downstream distributions.
All software is distributed under the GPLv3 "AS IS" disclaimer, without warranties of any kind. Maintainers and contributors assume no liability for data loss, service interruption, or operational failures resulting from running this software.
