Summary

  • Add View metadata immediately below Rotate right in the PDF viewer’s ⋯ menu. It appears only when the document contains actual PDF Info or XMP metadata, including for PDFs without an outline.
  • Show all PDF Info fields, parsed XMP keys, original raw XMP XML and available response metadata in an independent scrollable dialog, without normalizing values or changing the formatted Sections panel. Render all embedded values as text, never HTML.
  • Rename Darken SEC HTML comments to Darken basic HTML pages, preserving the existing saved preference and default-on behavior. Apply the existing dark stylesheet to minimal plaintext-like HTML documents on HTTP and HTTPS; skip scripted, styled, or application-like websites.
  • Preserve the SEC-only ChatGPT button and the existing SEC selection highlighting behavior.

Verification

  • Verified the committed Git tree is nonempty and all 11 intended changed paths contain the proposed blobs.
  • Validated JavaScript syntax of the new metadata module and plain HTML content scripts.
  • Added and registered Node regression tests for raw source preservation, missing/malformed metadata, menu positioning, plain-page detection, extension coverage, and SEC-only integrations.
  • Not run locally: the complete Node test suite and browser extension smoke tests (the GitHub connection has no local repository execution environment). CI/browser testing is still needed.

Behavior notes

  • Conservative detection may deliberately skip some legacy pages that include linked CSS or scripts; explicit SEC comment pages continue to qualify.
  • The existing raw SEC selection workaround remains SEC-only, whereas the new darkening criteria apply broadly.

Add a raw Info/XMP inspector directly below Rotate right, independent of Sections. Expand SEC comment darkening to conservative plaintext-style HTML pages on HTTP and HTTPS while preserving SEC-only ChatGPT actions. Add regression tests for both behaviors.
