Summary

  • Add IDX_SummitOrder_OwnerEmail_Owner (OwnerEmail, OwnerID) so getAllByOwnerEmailAndOwnerNotSet() (used by the MemberAssocSummitOrders job) stops reading all ownerless orders through the OwnerID index on every call.
  • Add IDX_SummitOrder_Hash and IDX_SummitOrder_PaymentGatewayCartId so getByHashLockExclusive() and getByPaymentGatewayCartIdExclusiveLock() become single-row lookups and lock one row instead of scanning (and locking) the whole table during checkout and payment callbacks.
  • Remove the unused getAllByOwnerEmail() and getByExternalIdLockExclusive() (no callers, unindexed PESSIMISTIC_WRITE paths).

Notes:

  • The migration is idempotent (existsIDX), has a down, and declares ALGORITHM=INPLACE, LOCK=NONE. The table is small (about 65K rows), so each build takes seconds; deploy off-peak.
  • Hash is a plain index, not UNIQUE, since uniqueness is not confirmed.
  • The optional (Status, Created) index is not included (about 8.5 ms per minute saved).

Test plan

  • tests/DoctrineSummitOrderRepositoryIndexesTest.php: index columns in INFORMATION_SCHEMA and EXPLAIN possible_keys for the three predicates (red before the migration, green after)
  • Migration up, down and repeated up on the local MySQL
  • CI: checkout, payment callback, revocation and order association tests
  • prod-12 after deploy: EXPLAIN of the three queries, OwnerID index reads stop growing, digest 89d0ce33282b average rows examined below 100

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Performance
    • Summit order searches may complete more quickly, particularly when matching orders by owner, order hash, or payment gateway cart ID.

📝 Walkthrough

The repository interface and Doctrine implementation remove two SummitOrder lookups. A migration adds three SummitOrder indexes, and tests verify their definitions and availability to matching query plans.

Changes: SummitOrder repository and indexes

Layer / File(s) Summary
Remove repository lookups
app/Models/Foundation/Summit/Repositories/ISummitOrderRepository.php, app/Repositories/Summit/DoctrineSummitOrderRepository.php
The interface and Doctrine implementation remove the owner-email lookup and the external-ID lookup that is not Summit-scoped. The Summit-scoped external-ID lookup remains.
Add and verify SummitOrder indexes
database/migrations/model/Version20261022120000.php, tests/DoctrineSummitOrderRepositoryIndexesTest.php
The migration conditionally adds or drops indexes on (OwnerEmail, OwnerID), Hash, and PaymentGatewayCartId. Tests check the index columns and whether EXPLAIN lists each index for its corresponding lookup predicate.

Change: Bug fix

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to a4cca

A rollback could remove an index that predates this migration and slow SummitOrder lookups. Resolve that rollback behavior before merging.

indexes were created, or reject pre-existing indexes before proceeding. Preserve
