fix(notlokry): G309 Lightforce switches and DPI - #258
Fix G309 LightForce mode detection and extended-DPI writes in Logitech HID++ driver
Reclassifies the G309 as a non-power-only model and adds a new exception set so LightForce mode is exposed even without live lift-off control; the G305 stays power-only (hidpp.ts)
Adds hasLightforceModeControl, which requires non-power-only status, no analog buttons, and either live lift-off control or membership in the new G309 exception set
Fixes LogitechHidppClient.setDpi and setLiftOffDistance to read extended-DPI capabilities first and write zero for unsupported Y-axis DPI and lift-off fields, instead of copying unsupported values; the DPI confirmation check now only compares Y when separate axes are supported
HID++ rejection messages now include the feature index and function ID of the failed request
Updates G309 testing notes in logitech-testing.md and adds dev dependency @types/node
Behavioral Change: G309 mice now report LightForce mode in status; setDpi writes a different byte layout for devices without separate Y-axis or lift-off support

Walkthrough
The Logitech HID++ driver updates model-specific control visibility, capability-aware DPI and lift-off writes, and rejection error details. Tests and documentation reflect these changes. The development dependencies add @types/node.

Summary
Model-specific control visibility src/drivers/logitech/hidpp.ts, src/drivers/logitech/hidpp.test.ts, docs/logitech-testing.md
The G309 can expose LightForce mode without live lift-off control. Gaming-surface visibility remains gated by live lift-off control and power-only status. Tests and documentation reflect the control behavior.
DPI and lift-off writes account for separate-axis and lift-off capabilities. A test checks that a device without separate-axis support receives a zero Y-axis value.

Full details: Title check
Explanation
The title "fix(notlokry): G309 Lightforce switches and DPI" names the G309 model, LightForce switch support, and DPI handling. The raw summary and PR objectives confirm these are the main changes: LightForce mode support for the G309 via hasLightforceModeControl, and DPI writes that preserve Y DPI only when separate axes are supported. The title is specific and short. Its scope is slightly narrow because the PR also covers lift-off writes, HID++ error detail, and hardware-testing docs. Those are secondary to the title's main subject. The title uses a conventional commit prefix with a scope, which is acceptable.

Macroscope's review found this PR approvable — The PR makes localized Logitech HID++ fixes: it exposes the verified G309 LightForce control and writes only supported extended-DPI fields, with focused tests and documented hardware validation. Other changes are limited to diagnostics, documentation, and development dependencies.
