xGRIB 0.3.6 automatically uses the hosted GFS cache when NOAA NOMADS is unreachable, rate limited (including HTTP 429 and “Over Rate Limit” responses), or returns an unusable download. Normal NOAA downloads remain preferred. Access is automatic; no user account or shared access key is required. Other providers retain their existing behavior.
Replace all eleven 0.3.5 master entries with the verified 0.3.6 production suite: Android arm64, Apple Silicon macOS, Windows x86/x64, Debian 12 x86_64/arm64, Debian 13 x86_64, Ubuntu 22.04/24.04 x86_64, and Flatpak x86_64/arm64. All URLs and embedded metadata point directly to
pob220/xgrib-prod.The hosted cache covers GFS wind-only/routing fields and GFS waves. Marine/all-fields requests report unsupported cached coverage rather than silently omitting fields. It checks exact forecast cycles, hours, geographical coverage, GRIB fields, file size and SHA256; cancellation remains effective during submission, polling and download. The service applies bounded workload and download limits.
Validation:
Green release pipeline · Public package/qualification audit · Plugin source
Retain the existing requirement to disable bundled GRIB and restart OpenCPN before enabling xGRIB. This is a main-catalogue release.
