Implement bounded terminal-local status reports, capability replies, pane/session format inspection and lifecycle cleanup. Adapt to upstream batched output publication and generation safety. Preserve copy-mode state across no-op resize and detach/reattach, and cover key ordering and mouse forwarding with regression tests.

I had an agent add this. Basically this allows the agents (example: pi) to communicate their status to/through rmux. This is useful for anyone implementing a deck or trying to read the status of agents within rmux on top of rmux.
This was vibed with astra. It seemed okay to me, but let me know if I missed something architecturally or stylistically. I didn't see any guidelines about AI-assisted contributions, which is why this is opened. Happy to close if that's an issue!
I'm writing a deck (rmux-deck) on top of rmux, which is why I'm interested in this. But, I think generally, it's useful to anyone using rmux for agent-driven automation.
