Welcome To 9H09 Build 269120 Preview!
Build 269120 builds on top of Build 269115 with a major Taskbar Search update, a redesigned Colors & transparency effects experience, improved personalization previews, smoother animations, & additional UI consistency refinements throughout 9H09.
Credits:
Additions:
New Taskbar Search Modes:
Search now includes multiple taskbar presentation options, including Icon only, Icon & search bar, & Expand on hover. These options allow Search to stay compact or expand into a full search field depending on the selected taskbar behavior.
Interactive Taskbar Search Field:
The expanded taskbar Search can now be typed into directly. Search text is synchronized with the Search overlay so results can update from the taskbar without requiring the user to type inside the overlay first.
New Accent Color Previews:
Manual accent color options now use miniature WebWindows-style preview tiles instead of basic color circles. Each preview demonstrates how the selected accent can appear inside the interface.
New Glass Surface Previews:
Glass surface colors now include dedicated material previews that demonstrate the selected tint using miniature translucent window & taskbar surfaces.
Custom Color Preview Tiles:
The custom accent & glass color pickers now use the same preview design as the preset colors. A small plus badge identifies the custom picker without making it visually inconsistent with the surrounding previews.
Changes:
Taskbar Search Animation Improvements:
The Expand on hover behavior has been refined with smoother width, padding, border-radius, icon, & input transitions. The magnifying-glass icon now scales down as the search field expands & returns to its normal size when the field collapses.
Taskbar Search Icon Refinements:
The Search icon is smaller while the full search field is expanded, helping the icon, text field, & surrounding spacing feel more balanced.
Search Overlay Results Fixes:
Search result rendering has been corrected so the overlay can properly switch between its default content & live results. The taskbar field now works together with the existing Search overlay instead of leaving the results area hidden or unavailable.
Colors & Transparency UI Remake:
The Colors & transparency effects page has been redesigned to better match the existing WebWindows Settings application. The page now uses the same general spacing, typography, surfaces, icon treatment, borders, & control styling found throughout the rest of Settings.
Visual Effects Integration:
Visual effects have been moved into the Colors & transparency effects page. Window drop shadows & HDR Lighting now appear alongside color, glass, & transparency controls instead of being treated as a separate personalization page.
Win-Row Subset Styling:
Specific personalization controls now use the existing win-row split/subset layout. Descriptions remain inside the main setting surface while toggles, color previews, & transparency controls use their own connected subset surfaces, improving consistency with other Settings options.
Universal Border Radius Standardization:
The redesigned personalization surfaces now use the universal
--os-radiusvalue instead of introducing unrelated corner radii. Setting cards, control subsets, icon containers, preview tiles, value boxes, & other rectangular UI elements now follow the same system-wide radius behavior.Color & Glass Preview Consistency:
Accent & glass previews have been refined to match the visual language of other WebWindows preview controls. Preview tiles now use miniature wallpaper, glass surfaces, taskbar elements, subtle borders, shadows, selected states, & the universal border radius for a more cohesive appearance.
Personalization Layout Refinements:
The Colors, Transparency & materials, & Visual effects sections have been reorganized into a cleaner hierarchy. Controls have more intentional separation while still fitting the established Settings design instead of appearing as an isolated or separate UI style.
Work In Progress:
Windows Defender is still being developed.
The full Windows Defender security system, including planned file protection, update security, privacy protection, & other security features, is not included as a finished feature in this build.
Some Taskbar Search behavior, personalization previews, animations, Settings layouts, language translations, & other 9H09 features may also continue to be changed in future builds.
