GitHub retires the macos-14 runner image on 2026-11-02 and fails it in scheduled brownouts before then (2026-11-01, 14:00–00:00 UTC, among others): the job is cancelled before any runner is assigned, so the check job callers require goes red with no step run. Emerging-Patterns/bolt#267 hit this today.

  • nix-flake-check.yml: the default runners list names macos-15 in place of macos-14. It is arm64 too, so aarch64-darwin checks still run.
  • README: the documented default and the example follow.

Callers pin this workflow by SHA, so each one picks this up when it bumps the pin; bolt already passes runners with macos-15 itself (Emerging-Patterns/bolt@9ffbe5c).

GitHub retires the macos-14 runner image on 2026-11-02 and fails it in
scheduled brownouts before then: the job is cancelled before any runner is
assigned, so the `check` job every caller requires goes red with no step
run (bolt's CI hit this on 2026-11-01). The default runner list now names
macos-15, also arm64, so aarch64-darwin is still checked.

Emerging-Patterns/actions#15 moved the shared workflow's default runners
off macos-14, which GitHub retires on 2026-11-02, so the runners override
this repo carried is no longer needed.
