Old hardware. New possibilities.

Independent homebrew development for PlayStation 2 · PlayStation 1 · Game Boy Advance · and beyond.

Who we are

Casket Labs is an independent homebrew development studio focused on bringing new software to classic consoles. We build and adapt games, applications, and developer tools for systems that still have plenty of life left in them.

We care about the experience on the actual hardware: thoughtful controls, practical performance, solid compatibility, and software people can enjoy using.

What we work on

Area What it means to us
Homebrew applications Original software, utilities, and creative tools made for retro consoles.
Games and ports Adapting interesting projects to fit the capabilities and limitations of older hardware.
Console tooling Launchers, workflows, and tools that make developing and using homebrew easier.
Hardware-focused engineering Solving the rendering, memory, storage, and compatibility challenges unique to each system.

Our platforms

PlayStation 2   PlayStation / PS1   Game Boy Advance   More retro hardware

The platforms may change from project to project, but the goal stays the same: make something worth running on the original console.
