Normalize action-value keys before lookup
When a direct caller supplies naturally matching mixed-case keys, such as literalValues={"SiteName":"display"} and actionValues={"SiteName":"raw"}, the literal map is normalized to sitename but actionValues is not, so this lookup falls back to the display value. Consequently, %SiteName% inside a command or URL is restored as display rather than the requested exact value raw. Normalize actionValues case-insensitively just like the literal map so the new public helper preserves exact actions for all supported marker case variants.

Bound literal-key scanning before walking the template
When a caller supplies many unreferenced literal bindings, each entry performs two case-insensitive scans of the entire template before the referenced-value limit is applied. The persisted reward path permits up to 8,192 entries and templates up to 65,536 characters, so a valid message can trigger over a billion character comparisons on the player/server owner thread; the public helper does not bound unreferenced entries at all. Parse the template markers once or cap all inspected bindings before scanning.

Fail delivery when the player disappears after rendering
If the player disconnects during placeholder/component rendering after the earlier online check, this second lookup returns null and silently skips every component. The enclosing action then returns a completed future and records the reward message as successfully delivered, so it is permanently lost instead of being failed or released for replay; recheck availability here and propagate a not-started delivery failure when nothing was sent.

Restore literal tokens in a single indexed pass
When a valid template references many distinct literals, every restored occurrence loops over every token and calls indexOf on the remaining component text. With the documented 4,096 active bindings, this produces millions of full-string searches on the player/server owner thread and can stall reward delivery even though all inputs satisfy the limits. Parse the token prefix or build a multi-pattern index so restoration scans each component once.

Stop rescanning every binding during token allocation
The marker-index follow-up avoids scanning the template for every unreferenced binding, but each referenced binding still allocates a token by scanning the source and every literal/action value for that random string. A valid 4,096-binding request near the 1 MiB aggregate limit therefore performs billions of character comparisons before rendering on the server owner thread. Track forbidden tokens/index the bounded corpus once, or use an allocation scheme that does not rescan all values per token.

Persist the random message choice before checkpointing
When a queued RandomMessage containing literal metadata fails after formatting begins, this descriptor checkpoints the randomly selected template; on replay, RewardMessages.java:78 draws a new template before registering the action. If the new choice differs, AsyncActionCollection.closeAndAwait() sees the unfinished snapshot action as changed and refuses delivery, so a list of N messages may require repeated retries until the original choice is randomly selected again. Persist/reuse the random selection, or identify this action using stable configured data rather than the selected template.

Index legacy broadcast bindings before rendering
For a broadcast mixing literal metadata with legacy display overrides, this loop runs replacePlaceHolder over the template once per override, while token() also scans every visible and exact override value for every referenced binding. Under the accepted 8,192-entry/1 MiB limits, this can perform billions of character comparisons on the source player's server/region thread. The indexed fix in LiteralMessageTemplate does not cover this separate BroadcastValues path; index referenced markers and the collision corpus once instead.

Normalize action keys with the matcher's case fold
The fresh evidence is that validation now lowercases keys with Locale.ROOT, but MarkerMatcher compares them using Character.toLowerCase(Character.toUpperCase(...)). Those equivalences differ for supported Unicode keys: for example, action key İ is stored as i̇ and therefore does not supply the raw action for %i%, while s and ſ are accepted as distinct keys even though the matcher treats them as the same key and silently chooses one by insertion order. Use the same folding representation for validation, duplicate rejection, lookup, and matching.

get(anyInt())stub has no effect on literal random selection.
sendLiteralRandomDisplayMessagecopiestemplatesinto a newArrayListwith a for-each loop. It then callschoices.get(ThreadLocalRandom...)on that copy. The spy's iterator reads the real elements, so the stubbedgetis never called. The first run and the restarted run therefore pick a template at random.Consequence: assume a regression makes the restart re-roll instead of reusing the persisted selection. With two choices, the re-roll picks the same template 50% of the time, and the assertion at Line 549 still passes. The test catches the regression only half the time. The same unused stub is at Lines 555-556 and Lines 573-574.
Fix: use many distinct choices so that a re-roll almost never matches. Remove the stub because it does nothing.

Checkpoint recipients before failing a partial broadcast
When a later recipient's renderer or transport fails after an earlier recipient has already received the message, this fails the entire queued broadcast. The replay ledger only checkpoints the broadcast as one action, so a retry sends it again to the earlier recipient, duplicating a reward message. Record recipient/console progress durably or otherwise avoid replaying deliveries that already completed.

Exclude replay metadata from binding admission
For a valid literal binding map near the 1 MiB limit, sendLiteralRandomDisplayMessage passes its first validation, then Reward.replaySelection adds the Base64-encoded selected template before sendLiteralDisplay validates again. This loop counts that internal replay selection—and, on retries, action checkpoint metadata—as display bindings, so an otherwise admitted random message can fail permanently once its replay state is recorded. Filter replay metadata before applying the binding size/count limits, as the renderer already does later.

Allow newly added random-message actions during replay
When a queued reward already has any persisted async-action snapshot and its configuration is extended with a new literal RandomMessage, none of the new templates has a reserved identity, so this unconditional throw prevents the injection from reaching closeAndAwait(), whose snapshot-merging logic otherwise admits newly added actions. This leaves the queued reward permanently pending after an additive configuration change; return no reserved choice when the snapshot contains no reservation for this action, and only reject when there is evidence that this action's previously selected template was removed.

Keep
%NewLine% matching case-sensitive
For literal-enabled messages, the inline (?i) makes variants such as %newline% and %NEWLINE% become line separators before PlaceholderAPI runs. The established player and broadcast paths split only the exact %NewLine% spelling, so templates that previously displayed or resolved a differently cased token silently change behavior merely by opting into a literal binding. Remove the case-insensitive flag to preserve the existing template casing contract.

Batch literal broadcast dispatch and checkpointing.
literalBroadcastPlan creates one entry for each recipient-line pair. Reward.replayNestedRewardSequence dispatches one entry, waits for its checkpoint, and only then starts the next entry. Durable offline and timed replays can persist progress between entries. Large broadcasts can therefore delay later reward stages and recipient delivery.
Use bounded concurrent dispatch. Persist a completed-entry set once per batch. Preserve per-entry progress so retries do not resend completed lines.

Checkpoint each player-message line before retrying
When a literal player message contains multiple %NewLine% components and the player disconnects after an earlier line is sent, the next iteration throws and leaves the whole action unfinished. A replay therefore sends the already delivered prefix again before continuing, duplicating reward messages across disconnect/retry; persist per-line progress as the broadcast path does, or deliver the action atomically.

Preserve lowercase broadcast line separators
When literal metadata is used by Messages.Broadcast, this splitter recognizes only %NewLine%; fresh evidence beyond the earlier casing comment is that the established MiscUtils.broadcast and broadcastPrepared paths explicitly split lowercase %newline% first. Existing broadcast templates using that spelling therefore start sending the marker literally to players solely because a literal placeholder was added; retain both established variants in the literal broadcast path without changing the player-message casing behavior.

Keep lowercase separators broadcast-only
For literal-enabled player messages, renderLiteralComponents also calls this shared splitLines(), so %newline% now becomes a line break even though the established player-message path splits only exact %NewLine%. Fresh evidence after the earlier casing feedback is that LiteralTokenIndexTest.lineSplittingOnlyRecognizesTheCanonicalNewLineTokenCase still asserts that lowercase remains literal, and this implementation contradicts that regression test; accept the lowercase spelling only in the broadcast-specific path.

Cap literal action snapshots before registration
When one Messages.Player or Messages.Broadcast list contains roughly 6,000 literal entries, this collection accepts every durable action and closeAndAwait() encodes them into a single snapshot exceeding the 1 MiB replay-metadata limit. That oversized snapshot is persisted without validation, after which each delivery calls copyWithoutReplayMetadata() and fails before sending anything; retries retain the same oversized snapshot, leaving the queued reward permanently pending. Bound the action collection or encoded snapshot before checkpointing it.

Split trusted display newlines before literal restoration
When an existing trusted display override contains %NewLine% and the message also gains an unrelated literal binding, this splits the tokenized template before the legacy override is restored below. Previously replaceFormattedMessage() restored that override before sendPreparedMessage() split it, so One%NewLine%Two produced two messages; the literal path now emits the marker inside one component. LiteralBroadcast has the same ordering, so trusted legacy replacements should be restored before line splitting while literal values remain protected.

Cache the persisted action snapshot before registration
When replaying a valid Messages.Player or Messages.Broadcast list with thousands of collected actions, every registration reparses and Base64-decodes the entire persisted snapshot here. Because injection and registration run on the player/server owner thread, this makes replay quadratic in the action count and can allocate gigabytes before any delivery begins near the accepted snapshot limit; decode the snapshot once per AsyncActionCollection and reuse it for membership checks.

Expand ordinary placeholders before splitting player lines
When a literal-enabled player template also contains an ordinary placeholder whose value includes %NewLine%, this loop splits before renderIndexedVisible() expands that ordinary binding. The established sendMessage(message, placeholders) path expands the map first and then splits, so adding an unrelated literal binding changes two messages into one message containing the marker; expose trusted ordinary-placeholder separators before this split while keeping literal values opaque.

Preserve the legacy console broadcast payload
When a literal-enabled broadcast contains %NewLine%/%newline% or rich [Text=...] syntax, this loop creates one console action for each already split and parsed line. The established MiscUtils.broadcast and broadcastPrepared paths instead send the console one unsplit string without parsing its interactive syntax, so adding an unrelated literal binding changes console output into multiple normalized messages. Keep a separate legacy-shaped console payload while retaining per-line player checkpoints.

Skip empty literal reward messages
When a Messages.Player list entry is empty—or ordinary/display placeholder expansion makes it empty—splitLines() still yields one line and this unconditionally creates a component that the delivery path sends as a blank chat message. The established paths explicitly suppress empty strings in AdvancedCoreUser.sendMessage(String[]) and MiscUtils.broadcastPrepared, so merely adding unrelated literal metadata changes valid configurations from sending nothing to emitting blank chat packets; preserve the empty-message check before adding the component.

Cancel completed per-line timeout tasks
For every replay-aware broadcast recipient line, this schedules a 30-second delayed task, but successful or failed completion only flips finished and never removes the scheduled task. A valid 8,192-step broadcast therefore leaves 8,192 timer entries queued after delivery, and repeated broadcasts can accumulate an unbounded delayed-task backlog followed by bursts of no-op executions; retain a cancellable timeout handle or use one shared action deadline and cancel it on completion.

Keep display newlines out of exact action attributes
When a legacy display binding contains One%NewLine%Two but its marker occurs inside a Command, Url, or Suggest_Command attribute, this blanket visible-marker replacement exposes the display separator before exact attributes are protected. The established renderer substitutes the raw action value in that position, whereas adding an unrelated literal binding can now split the component into malformed lines and leave internal fragment tokens in the action instead of the raw value. Expand display separators only in visible/hover regions while shielding exact attributes.

Split lines after visible placeholder evaluation
When a player message already has a legacy display override and gains an unrelated literal binding, a visible PlaceholderAPI or JavaScript result containing %NewLine% is produced only after this loop has split the template. The prior display path evaluated parseText() in replaceFormattedMessage() before sendPreparedMessage() split the result, so the same template sent two chat lines; the literal path now emits the marker inside one component. Preserve post-evaluation splitting for visible regions while continuing to shield exact attributes and literal values.

Check plugin state before invoking the console renderer
When plugin disable occurs after this console-line task is queued but before its callback runs, renderer.get() is still invoked before the enabled check. The replay path reaches this method for persisted C|<line> broadcast plans, and the public supplier overload can therefore run stale integration or Bukkit-dependent rendering during shutdown even though delivery subsequently fails; check owner.isEnabled() before invoking the supplier.

Split recipient-generated broadcast separators after rendering
When a recipient-specific PlaceholderAPI value contains %NewLine% or %newline%, this freezes the broadcast lines before renderLine() performs recipient expansion, so the separator is sent literally inside one component. The established MiscUtils.broadcastPrepared path rendered each recipient first and then split both spellings, meaning adding unrelated literal metadata changes a multiline broadcast into one line. Preserve protected exact actions and literal values, but split visible recipient output after its placeholder evaluation (and represent those recipient-specific lines in the replay plan).

Skip rendering completed recipient fragment plans
When every fragment has been delivered and its nested progress checkpoint succeeds but the enclosing R entry checkpoint fails, a restart retries this entry and invokes the recipient renderer before consulting the completed nested plan. If the dynamic placeholder now throws or produces fewer fragments, validation fails and the queued reward remains pending even though this recipient has no delivery left to perform. Check the persisted nested progress first and complete the outer entry without rendering when that fragment plan is already finished.

Bound aggregate restored output before building components
In the literal Messages.Player path, a valid 65,536-character template can contain roughly 4,000 %A%%NewLine% lines while %A% holds the allowed 8,192-character literal. Each finish() enforces its output limit independently, so this loop constructs more than 32 MiB of component text and thousands of component trees on the player's server/region thread before the caller can check the line count, after which direct deliveries also send the entire batch synchronously. Apply a cumulative restored-output/component budget while iterating, before parsing and retaining every line.

Freeze player lines before checkpointing their indexes
Fresh evidence after the completed-plan shortcut is that partially completed plans still re-render dynamic PlaceholderAPI/JavaScript output while the persisted plan stores only numeric indexes. If the first line of A%NewLine%B is checkpointed, delivery then fails, and the provider returns X%NewLine%A%NewLine%B on retry, replay skips index 0, sends A again as index 1, and never sends B because the frozen plan still has only two entries. Persist the rendered line payloads or stable line identities when admitting the plan rather than resolving saved indexes against a new render.

Freeze recipient fragments before resuming partial broadcasts
For a partially completed recipient plan, this renders the recipient output again and applies the persisted F|n entries to the new fragment array. If F|0 from A%NewLine%B was checkpointed before a disconnect and the recipient placeholder later expands to X%NewLine%A%NewLine%B, replay dispatches the new fragment 1 (A) and completes the two-entry snapshot, duplicating the delivered text and dropping B. Freeze the rendered fragment payloads or stable identities when the nested plan is first persisted instead of retaining indexes alone.

Check plugin state before skipping an absent recipient
When a queued global callback runs after plugin disable and the recipient is already absent, this branch completes successfully before checking owner.isEnabled(). The replay sequence can consequently advance its fragment and outer-recipient checkpoints—and invoke the checkpoint persistence callback—during shutdown, whereas the online-recipient path correctly fails when disabled. Fence the callback before Bukkit.getPlayer() and before treating absence as successful delivery.

Preflight aggregate literal plans before delivery
For a large but admitted Messages.Player list (for example, roughly 2,000 one-line entries with literal metadata), closeAndAwait() verifies that the action snapshot plus its eventual completion ledger fits, but each iteration here budgets only metadata persisted so far plus this one payload. The separate projections can therefore both pass even though their union—including every sibling's nested plan—exceeds 1 MiB: many messages are delivered and checkpointed, then a later entry fails this check, and every unchanged retry fails at the same entry. Project the completion ledger and all sibling payload plans together before sending the first message.

Adds literal display bindings that keep external labels separate from trusted formatting and exact command/URL action values. Existing messages without literal metadata retain their legacy behavior. No required configuration or database migration is introduced.
Behavior
%NewLine%separators and the broadcast lane's additional%newline%spelling. Exact actions and literal values remain opaque through splitting.Replay fixes
Freeze final player components, recipient fragment arrays and console text before the first delivery. Partial retries and serialized recovery use the original payload and completed prefix, without rerunning live providers or scripts. Broadcast admission captures recipient output sequentially on recipient owners before any transport side effect; the original audience remains fixed.
Project the complete outer and fragment checkpoint capacity before delivery. Strict terminal JSON decoding rejects malformed, duplicate, trailing, oversized or deeply nested data and excessive numeric exponents while preserving literal text and configured click/hover actions. The decoder uses older compatible Gson APIs.
Completed legacy numeric plans can finish their enclosing checkpoint without rendering or redelivery. Incomplete legacy plans lack the original payload and remain pending with their existing reservation and progress; recovery does not guess, renumber or erase them.
Shutdown callback follow-up
Fence queued global recipient lookup and absent/offline/retired completion when the plugin is disabled. Catch callback failures into the delivery future and suppress duplicate or settled callbacks. This prevents shutdown from falsely advancing fragment/outer replay checkpoints; enabled recipient absence and retirement preserve their existing skip behavior. Three real scheduling/replay regressions reproduced the previous successful completion after disable, and all now pass, alongside enabled, cancellation, duplicate, lookup-error and post-send countercases.

Delivery and journal publication are not atomic with external effects. A crash or failed checkpoint after handoff may remain ambiguous; this does not promise universal exactly-once messaging or reward execution. Larger broadcasts may be rejected before delivery when their frozen recovery evidence cannot fit the existing limits. See
docs/literal-reward-display.mdfor bounds and recovery behavior. Vote accounting and reward-claim paths are unchanged.
