The MCP server runs locally through npx -y @bsvkey/inference-mcp@1.3.6. The
version is pinned. It needs Node.js 18 or newer (xrp_infer needs Node 20.19+
or 22.12+).
- Install the plugin (Grok Build plugin marketplace, or cursor.directory for Cursor).
- Choose one way to pay. In Cursor, enter it in the plugin's settings (the values are masked). In Grok, set its environment variable before starting Grok:

list_models and open_channel work with no variable set. Use a key that
holds only a small amount: these are real payments.
Optional: BSVKEY_BASE_URL to point at a self-hosted gateway,
BSVKEY_FUNDED_SATS to check receipts against the amount you funded, and
BSVKEY_RECEIPT_STATE (a file path) to keep receipt checks across restarts.

Private keys and seeds are read from the environment (or a tool argument) and used only to sign inside the MCP server process. They are never sent to any endpoint. Only the signed payment is sent. No telemetry. The plugin has no hooks and no commands.
